How to Download & Install XAMPP on Windows

XAMPP is an open-source, cross-platform web server that consists of a web server, MySQL database engine, and PHP and Perl programming packages. It is compiled and maintained by Apache. It allows users to create WordPress websites online using a local web server on their computer. It supports Windows, Linux, and Mac.
The acronym XAMPP stands for:
- X – cross-platform
- A – Apache
- M – MySQL
- P – PHP
- P – Perl
Why use XAMPP?
XAMPP provides an easy-to-use control panel to manage Apache, MySQL, and other programs without using commands. To use PHP, we need to install Apache and MySQL. It’s not easy to install Apache and configure it as it needs to be set up and integrated with PHP and Perl, among other things. XAMPP deals with all the complexity to set up and integrate Apache with PHP and Perl.
Steps to Download and Install XAMPP:
Below are the step by step process to download and install XAMPP for Windows.
Step 1: Download XAMPP
Click on below link to download XAMPP for Windows.

Step 2: Run Installation
After successfully download, right click on setup and click on “Run as administrator”. The warning message dialog window appears.
Step 3: Update User Account Control
Go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change User Account Control settings -> Never notify Step 4: Click Next
Step 5: Select Components
In this step, select the components you want to install. Click Next to continue.
Step 6: Installation folder
In this step, choose a folder to install XAMPP. Click Next to continue.
Step 7: Select Languages
In this step, choose a Language. Click Next to continue.
Step 8: Ready to Install
In this step, Setup is now ready to begin installing XAMPP. Click Next to continue.
Step 9: Finish the installation
In this step, Setup has finished installing. Click Finish to launch Control Panel.
